Durham Radiology Associates Offer SpaceOar for patients receiving radiation for prostate cancer.

SpaceOAR is a medical product used in radiation therapy for prostate cancer. It is a hydrogel that is injected between the prostate gland and the rectum to create space and protect the rectum from radiation. The gel is absorbed by the body over time and does not affect the efficacy of radiation treatment. SpaceOAR can help reduce side effects such as rectal pain, bleeding, and incontinence.

    Dr. Chen joined Durham Radiology Associates July 2021 after completing a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He completed Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Chen offers the range of interventional radiology procedures, with particular interest in prostate artery embolization, uterine fibroid embolization, and vertebral augmentation procedures.
